About this Event
Featuring Peter Hegel, Lindsey Lund, Carissa Meyer, and Melissa Redondo.
It’s not easy to make it in the entertainment industry. You need the once-in-a-generation talent of a Tori Spelling, the raw sensuality of a Steve Buscemi, or the dedication to craft of a Bluey. But pretty much anyone can be a local celebrity, whether by appearing in a gender-blind middle school production of Godspell or winning the pie eating contest at the Knights of Columbus picnic. And even minor-league stardom can come with some hefty costs, like getting recognized from your show choir solo when you are just trying to drive through Taco Bell for some chalupas.
The performers of “Local Celebrity” are all veterans of the local talent circuit and have some stories and songs to share about it, under the musical direction of Brad Macdonald. Hosted by former Stagekid and anti-drug PSA star Jay Schleppenbach, this fast-paced show featuring allegedly humorous anecdotes and certified pop and Broadway hits is bound to change audience members’ lives, inasmuch as they will be an hour older at its conclusion.
