About this Event
Presented by The Woodward School for Girls Black Student Union (BSU)
At The Woodward School for Girls, our Black Student Union stands as a community of empowerment, education, and unity. Our mission is to create an intimate and safe space for students where we can support one another, celebrate our cultural identities, and engage in conversations about issues impacting minority communities.
This year, we are proud to host our Legacy Night: Roots & Rhythms — an evening dedicated to celebrating the creativity and talents of our BSU members through music, spoken word, dance, visual art, and more — all while honoring the cultural legacies that have shaped who we are today. Guests will experience an inspiring night of culture, pride, and connection. The event will take place on Friday, April 3rd, 2026, at The Woodward School, 1102 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA, beginning at 5:30 PM.
This year, our students decided to make Legacy Night even more meaningful. All sponsorships and donations will support our BSU’s programming and initiatives—and 50% of our proceeds will be donated to a charity providing relief to families affected by the crisis in Sudan.
Sudan is experiencing one of the world’s most severe humanitarian crises, with millions of people displaced due to ongoing conflict, violence, and shortages of food and medical resources. Families—especially women and children—are facing extreme hardship and instability.
As a club centered on unity, culture, and community support, the BSU felt called to stand in solidarity with Sudan. We believe that being part of the Black Student Union means caring for our global community, especially within the African diaspora. Supporting this cause reflects our mission to uplift others and make a meaningful impact beyond our school.
By supporting Legacy Night: Roots & Rhythms, you’re not only helping fund an unforgettable event — you’re also helping our students make a tangible impact beyond our school walls. Thank you for your support
