Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation (LSPR) and the City of Lee’s Summit invite you to a free fireworks celebration on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Legacy Park! The gates open to the park at 5 p.m., and fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.The fireworks show will be choreographed to music and simulcast on 94.9 KCMO. Concessions, food truck vendors, DJs, and activities for kids 12 and under.
Gates open at 5:00 p.m. and close at 9:00 p.m. or when all the parking venues are full. In the last few years, we have closed the gates by 8:30 p.m. as parking was already full.

Admission into the park is FREE. There will be charges for food and beverages.
--------------------Navigating to Legacy Blast
--Before the fireworks show, Blackwell will be closed at Colbern and at the roundabout to clear the roadway for the exit if necessary.
--Overflow traffic will be directed out of the area.
--Expect lengthy delays before and after the event in the areas of NE Colbern Road, NE Scruggs, NE Langsford, and NE Blackwell Parkway.
--Allow yourself plenty of time for your drive and be patient and respectful! Leave the house early!!!!
--------------------Parking FAQ
--Parking illegally in and around Legacy Park neighborhoods and in non-designated parking areas at Legacy Park is not allowed.
--Parking on private property and sidewalks is not allowed. Violators could be ticketed and/or towed.
--Parking spaces cannot be reserved for others or used to set up a tailgate.
--------------------Other Friendly Reminders
--LSPR Parks and Venues are smoke-free.
--No grills, alcohol, or fireworks will be permitted in the venues.
--Bring blankets and chairs to get the best view of the show outside of your car.
--Tune into 94.9 to enjoy the show!
