Lefteris Kordis, piano
Brad Barrett, acoustic bass
Dor Heskovits, drums
The Lefteris Kordis Trio, featuring Brad Barrett (bass) and Dor Herskovits (drums), brings Kordis’ signature “Mediterranean Jazz” to the stage — a vibrant fusion of Eastern Mediterranean folk traditions, classical color, and modern jazz. Their performances blend lyricism, swing, and rich improvisation in a sound both timeless and fresh.
Kordis began his professional journey alongside legendary composer Mikis Theodorakis and went on to build an international career in the United States, collaborating with artists such as Steve Lacy, Sheila Jordan, Jerry Bergonzi, George Garzone, Joe Lovano, Greg Osby, and Robin Eubanks. His performances have graced stages worldwide, including Carnegie Hall, the Panama Jazz Festival, the Toronto Jazz Festival, and the Athens Epidaurus Festival.
His recordings Mediterrana and Aquarelles have received international acclaim, with Aquarella 2 earning a Silver Medal from the Global Music Awards. Critics describe his music as “a colorful, highly intelligent blend of modern jazz elements and Mediterranean folk-song” (★★★★, DownBeat), while NEA Jazz Master Bob Brookmeyer praised him as “a pianist with skill, touch, musicality and a gift for making songs from songs.”
