Held annually on the last Monday in August every year the anticipation for this stunning display of colour and sheer joy that winds its way through the streets of Leeds builds with events that present the best of carnival culture.

Black Music Festival: Will take place entirely within Potternewton Park on Sunday 25th August from 2pm to 8pm and can attract an audience of up to 30,000.
Leeds West Indian Carnival: Activity within the park commences from 12 noon with Carnival starting at 2pm from Potternewton Park and returning around 6pm, throughout the day there will be activity within the park, with the peak being from 5pm to the close of the event at 8pm, where there can be of up to 50,000 people within the park.
What makes these events truly unique is its community and the local vendors who play a pivotal part in creating a Carnival like no other. Therefore priority will be given to local traders along with a small number of specialist out of town traders, in addition to zero tolerance approach to non-authorised stalls.
