About this Event
Join Emilia Arenas for a special guided exploration of the Ashtanga Primary Series, traditionally known as Yoga Chikitsa, which translates to “yoga therapy.”
The Primary Series is designed to purify and align the body, detoxify the nervous system, and build a strong foundation for the deeper practices of Ashtanga Yoga.
During this workshop, Emilia will guide students through the sequence using the traditional Sanskrit vinyasa count, while explaining the breath, transitions, and structure of the practice so students can follow and deepen their understanding.
The Ashtanga method links breath, movement, and awareness into a continuous moving meditation. Emilia will break down how the series flows together and how to approach the postures with steadiness, clarity, and intelligence.
This session is appropriate for both students new to Ashtanga and those with an existing practice who want to refine their understanding of the Primary Series.
What You’ll Experience
• Guided Primary Series with traditional Sanskrit vinyasa count
• Clear explanation of breath and transitions
• Insight into the therapeutic intention of Yoga Chikitsa
• A supportive environment to explore and deepen the practice
