About this Event

As part of the 'Big Bike Revival', hosted by 'Cycling UK', Sunderland Young People's Bike project are pleased to offer a number of led bike rides showcasing the local infrastructure and offering workplace cycling tips.

The ride is designed to get you back onto your bike to experience easily achievable bike rides within your local area. Getting on your bike is a simple, cost free, fun activity with a number of health and economical benefits.

This ride will start and finish in Thompsons Park and will be a leisurely 5 mile route using local cycle infrastructure. The route will link with local business parks, shopping outlets and the City Centre. We will also explore the beautiful river and coastal routes before heading back. The route can be extended based on the ability of the riders who participate. Our qualified cycling instructors will be on hand throughout to lead the ride and provide any assistance required.

All riders must be able to ride with a degree of confidence and ability to take part, most of this route will consist of pedalling on cycle paths, however, there will be small sections involving cycling on and crossing roads.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own bikes where possible, however, we can provide bikes and helmets for the session if required.

All participants must be able to ride confidently for 5 miles, Children are welcome with an accompanying adult.
