🧠Lecture: "The Clitoris in the Wild: Humans, Snakes, Monkeys, & More"
🎤 Speaker: Anthropologist, Natalia Reagan
Join us for a hilarious and eye-opening exploration of the clitoris across species with biological anthropologist, primatologist, and comedian Natalia Reagan. From the “sweet bean” to snake “devil’s doorbells” and the hypertrophied clitorises of certain monkeys, this talk uncovers how much we’re still learning about this long-overlooked organ—and why it matters.
You’ll hear about a 2022 study that finally counted the nerve fibers of the human clitoris—10,281 on average, over 2,000 more than previously claimed—and learn how earlier, flawed data became “fact.” We’ll also dive into groundbreaking research revealing that snakes have not one but two clitorises (hemiclitores), and what these discoveries say about representation and diversity in science.
Natalia Reagan brings her unique blend of scientific expertise and sharp comedy to make complex research accessible, engaging, and unforgettable. Her extensive work spans Nat Geo Wild, Discovery, Scientific American, Neil deGrasse Tyson’s “StarTalk,” and multiple TV series on cryptids and the unexplained.
