🧠Lecture: "What Is a 'Good' Wine? The Language of Wine Assessment"
🎤 Speaker: Professor Torrey Grant
Join us for an engaging evening as Professor Torrey Grant uncorks the mysteries behind what makes a wine “good.” Can something be objectively subjective, or are we just talking nonsense? Together, we’ll explore the critical language of wine assessment and how it applies to the most important critic in the room: you.
Professor Grant teaches the popular “Beer and Wine Appreciation” course at Syracuse University and brings years of experience as a retail consultant and educator for Wegmans and Liquor City. Known for his unconventional and playful approach—like pairing Champagne with hotdogs—he blends a refined palate with a love for simple, approachable flavors that invite everyone to the table, from curious beginners to seasoned enthusiasts.
Come ready to challenge your assumptions, expand your tasting vocabulary, and think differently about the wines you love (or think you don’t).
