📚 Lecture: “The Science & Art of Museum Habitat Dioramas”
🎤 Speaker: Author & Historian, Brant MacDuff
To create an engaging habitat diorama, a team of skilled museum artisans must collaborate to capture scientifically accurate moments in time. Join us for an insightful discussion as Brant MacDuff shares a snapshot of the skills, secrets, stories, and fascinating characters behind these dioramas, as well as their impact beyond the museum walls. Special emphasis will be placed on New York's iconic American Museum of Natural History.
Author Brant MacDuff is a conservation and taxidermy historian who explores wildlife conservation strategies and economics. His book, The Shotgun Conservationist, serves as a crash course in wildlife conservation through the lens of hunting and fishing in America and beyond. As public opinion increasingly influences conservation laws, MacDuff's work focuses on effectively communicating what successful wildlife conservation and sustainability truly entail to the wider public.
Don’t miss this opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation for the artistry and science of museum dioramas!
