Dr. Silverman is an Assistant Professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where he teaches cosmetic chemistry. His research focuses on turning waste materials into high-value consumer products, including transforming used cooking oils into soap. His first book, How and Why Soap Works, expands on these topics with thirty hands-on experiments you can try at home.
