🎙️ Lecture: The Art of Trader Joe’s
👨‍🏫 Speaker: Julie Averbach
🏷 Themes: artistic · visual · cultural
Trader Joe’s is a treasure trove of art. Hidden in plain sight, artwork animates everything from eye-catching product packaging to handmade murals and signs. This lecture traces the surprising historical origins of Trader Joe’s art, from the ancient Roman sculpture on Caesar Salad to the Art Nouveau icons adorning store wine labels.
After visiting 150+ Trader Joe’s stores nationwide, author Julie Averbach showcases her research in a lecture that will forever change the way you see Trader Joe’s.
Julie Averbach is the author of The Art of Trader Joe’s and holds a B.A. in Art History & Psychology from Yale University. She has been featured as a Trader Joe's expert in CNN, CNBC, and Artnet News. Averbach is also the Founder & CEO of smARTee, a nonprofit that provides live virtual art museum tours to foster arts access, wellness, and lifelong learning.
Don’t miss this chance to learn and connect in a relaxed, engaging atmosphere. 🍻
