Dr. Prosser will take us on a journey through time, examining notorious cases of contaminated beverages—including government-adulterated liquor during Prohibition and the infamous “Ginger Jake” paralysis. We’ll also discuss recent tourist tragedies in Laos, breaking down symptoms, treatments, and the antidotes that can mean the difference between survival and tragedy.
As an emergency medicine physician and toxicologist, Dr. Prosser has a deep passion for poisons and their impact on society. She is the creator and host of the popular Pick Your Poison Podcast, known for its fast-paced and interactive exploration of toxins. Her research on a variety of substances has garnered national and international recognition.
