📚 Lecture: "Forces of Light: Beyond Illumination"
🎤 Speaker: PhD Student, Ali Droby
Join us for an enlightening evening with Lecturer Ali Droby as we delve into the fascinating world of light and its immense potential. Light is not just a tool for vision; it is a powerful force that we can control to revolutionize technology. In this engaging lecture, you will discover how shaping light enables optical forces that move matter, materials that steer waves, and innovative photonic approaches that could change the future of computing.
Through striking visuals and live demonstrations, Ali will illustrate how controlling light allows us to manipulate information, energy, and even the physical world around us.
Ali Droby is a PhD student in Physics at the CUNY Advanced Science Research Center, focusing on the control and structuring of light at the nanoscale to realize groundbreaking physical phenomena. With previous experience in optical levitation and manipulation, Ali has demonstrated the ability to levitate microscopic particles and accelerate them to remarkable speeds—all using just light.
Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the transformative power of light with Ali Droby!
