🧠Lecture: "ADHD: Myths and Facts Explored"
🎤 Speaker: Psychologist, Dr. Ben Lovett
In 2026, almost everyone has heard of ADHD—but how much of what we “know” is actually true? Is procrastination a sign of ADHD? Are people with ADHD more creative? If Adderall helps you focus, does that mean you have ADHD? And what evidence-based treatments exist beyond Medic*tion?
Join Professor Ben Lovett for an engaging, myth-busting look at ADHD that blends cutting-edge research with real-world clinical experience. He’ll explain what makes something a psychological disorder, how everyday distractibility and impulsiveness differ from ADHD, and what science really says about diagnosis and treatment. Along the way, he’ll tackle hot topics like brain scans, adult-onset ADHD, and the risks and benefits of stimulant medications, all with humor, clarity, and empathy for those living with ADHD.
Dr. Ben Lovett is Professor of Psychology and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. A licensed psychologist, he has published over 100 works—including several books—on ADHD, learning disabilities, accommodations, and test anxiety, and consults widely with schools and colleges.
