The Colonial Beach Historical Society & Museum presents Dr. Lenny Levin. July 1st, 5pm at the Colonial Beach Community Center
Dr. Levin will offer a fascinating look into the landscape and community that shaped one of America's founding figures, President James Monroe. Focusing on Westmoreland County, and on Colonial Beach, this presentation explores the world Monroe was born into and the people who defined it. Drawing from detailed real estate maps, Dr. Levin will highlight historic land ownership and trace the family names that helped shape the region's early identity. Attendees will gain insight into the lives and legacies of leading families in the Colonial Beach area, as well as an emerging picture of the area's early businesses and economic life.
