Our only lecture this season will focus on a substantial work of the 20th century. The Seven Gates of Jerusalem is a work that includes a massive orchestra and choir with Latin and Hebrew Biblical texts depicting the greatness of the city of Jerusalem. At this lecture, we will discuss the composer, Krzysztof Penderecki, his inspiration to compose this symphony, and listen to a stunning recording of the complete work.
