Lecture: Carol Mancusi-Ungaro on Cy Twombly

Carol Mancusi-Ungaro, Associate Director Emerita, Conservation and Research at the Whitney Museum of American Art, will discuss the techniques and materials used by Cy Twombly, shedding light on the artist’s unique approach to surface, gesture, and mark-making. Based on her relationship with the artist, that began at the inception of the Cy Twombly Gallery and lasted for two decades, Mancusi-Ungaro’s talk will also share insights into the artist/conservator nexus.
This program takes place in the main building, located at 1533 Sul Ross Street. As always, Menil programs are free and open to all.
