Explore how to regain control, ensure governance, traceability, and confidence with AI and business outputs.
About this Event

AI is already influencing outputs within many organisations, often without clear control, ownership, or auditability.

For compliance and risk leaders, this creates a difficult position: accountability remains, but visibility and assurance may not.

This session explores where current governance approaches fall short when AI-assisted outputs are used in business processes, and what practical steps can be taken to regain control. It introduces a structured way to ensure AI-assisted outputs are reviewed, traceable, and appropriate before they are relied upon in decision-making, providing clarity in an area where many organisations currently lack confidence.

Who should attend:

Compliance, risk, and governance professionals responsible for oversight of data, reporting, and AI usage, particularly within regulated or high-trust environments including financial services, corporate service providers, and legal sectors.

📍 Location: Launchpad, Hillary House
⏱ Duration: 1 hour (room will be open 15 minutes prior to start time)

Session Objectives:

  • Understand how AI-assisted outputs are already influencing business processes
  • Identify where governance, ownership, and auditability can break down
  • Recognise the risks of relying on outputs that have not been formally reviewed
  • Learn a structured approach to regaining control and establishing clear accountability
  • Gain practical insight into introducing traceability and assurance into AI usage

Session Agenda:

  • The role of AI in business processes and decision support
  • Where governance gaps are emerging in real-world use
  • Risks of uncontrolled AI-assisted outputs
  • Establishing control: review, ownership, and traceability
  • A structured approach to governing AI-assisted outputs in practice

What's included:

  • A clear explanation of risks associated with AI-assisted outputs in business processes
  • A structured approach to reviewing and governing AI usage
  • Practical guidance aligned to regulated and high-trust environments
  • A model for introducing control, traceability, and accountability into AI-assisted decision-making

Instructor:

Philip Gelling is a Senior Data Engineer with two decades of experience in the financial services sector. His career is defined by the delivery of complex data platforms within heavily regulated environments; including nine years at a local Isle of Man bank where he managed the integrity of regulatory reporting and auditable data systems.

It was this background in deterministic, high-stakes reporting that led Philip to develop Controlled AI Analytics Promotion (CAAP).

As the founder of Manx Data IT Consultants; Philip provides organisations with this formal governance standard to bridge the gap between AI experimentation and production-grade accountability. CAAP is designed specifically for Compliance, Audit and IT leaders. Introducing a formal promotion boundary that ensures AI-assisted outputs are reviewed, clearly owned and authorised before they are relied upon for business decisions.
