White-on-Black drawing is fun. Your project during the workshop is to create a stunning featured image. You will learn basic fundamentals of drawings, practice and get comfortable with using soft drawing materials such as charcoal and china marker, as well as understand the concept of light and shadows to create a white-on-black drawing.
The class will be fun and interactive. Your instructor, Stuti, will start the class with a quick introduction to materials, and then guide you through the drawing process from measuring and drawing the information, preserving shadows and utilizing midtones/highlights to create depth in the artwork, to shading techniques with charcoal and china marker (hatching, stippling, smudging).
At the end of this workshop, you will be able to:
- Proficiently work with white charcoal and white china marker
- Understand creating depth in an artwork using midtones and highlights, shadows
- Create your own stunning white-on-black artworks
All supplies are included and will be provided to each guest, including Black drawing paper, White Charcoal, White China Marker, Sanding pad and Kneaded Eraser.
Who is this for: For ages of 13 and up+; No experience needed. It is a great workshop for any beginner who is looking to improve their drawing skills, while creating stunning artwork using minimal art supplies.

About the artist: Stuti Gupta is a mixed media fine artist, who specializes in Spray paints, Inks, Acrylics and Oil paint. Stuti's work is categorized as Symbolic Expressionism. Her beautiful artworks have an innocent, childlike yet whimsical feeling to them. They remind the viewer of a simpler world where all the creatures within it live in peace and harmony. Stuti also has an immaculate attention to detail in all her works, with lots to discover from far away and up close.
