Learn to Sew: Beginner Garment Class (Shorts or Pants)
Ready to start your sewing journey? This beginner-friendly class will guide you through the essentials of garment sewing while you create a comfortable, versatile pair of shorts or pants.
Over 8 hours of instruction (2 hours each Tuesday evening in April), you’ll build confidence and practical skills as you work step-by-step through your project. Choose between an elastic waistband or drawstring style, with the option to add pockets for extra function.
Along the way, you’ll learn how to:
- Take accurate body measurements and choose the right size
- Work with a digital sewing pattern
- Cut fabric with precision
- Sew strong, clean seams
- Construct a waistband (elastic or drawstring)
- Add pockets (optional)
- Finish your garment with professional techniques
By the end of the course, you’ll leave with a handmade piece you can wear proudly—and the skills to keep sewing on your own.
Cost: $160
Includes 8 hours of instruction, use of sewing machines, and tools.
Fabric not included.
