About this Event

Join me for a fun and informative day to learn the ancient art of scything. This hands-on workshop is perfect for anyone interested in sustainable land management, gardening, or simply wanting to try something new.

You'll learn how to set up the scythe to fit you, honing in the field, efficient mowing technique, peening he edge and how to care for your scythe. Don't worry if you've never held a scythe before – this event is suitable for beginners and enthusiasts alike and you'll receive lots of personalized guidance throughout the workshop.

By the end of the day, you'll have gained the confidence and skills to tackle your own scything projects, whether it's maintaining your garden or contributing to larger conservation efforts. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who share your passion for sustainable land management.

Spaces for this event are limited, so make sure to secure your spot early. Over 18s only.

Scythe kits

I'll provide scythe kits for you to use during the day which will be available to purchase so you're ready to start mowing as soon as you get home. No more ear defenders, visor, strimmer fumes or noise; just the sound of the birds and the swish of your blade. The scythe will cut weeds, brambles, rushes, small scrub or grass and works in small spaces, around trees and on slopes.

More details of my scythe kits can be found on my website: www.stevetomlincrafts.co.uk/buy-a-scythe-kit
