About this Event
A 3 day course for those interested in an in-depth development of traditional scything methods and meadow management. A great opportunity for anyone looking to improve their technique, learn more about meadow management and ecology and hand hay making all in the beautiful surroundings of Carr House Meadows Nature Reserve.
Please bring water, lunch, suitable clothing for the weather and sturdy boots (we have boots and coats available to borrow, please let us know when you book).
This course is free due a generous grant from the MacRobert Trust.
Meet at Bud Lane. Parking is limited. Please car share, walk, cycle or get the 57 bus to the Blue Ball Inn, a 1 mile/ 25 minute walk away if possible. Full directions and map will be sent out before the course. We can reimburse out-of-pocket volunteer travel expenses up to £10 per day.
This course runs 10am-4pm on the 29th, 30th and 31st July. Please ensure you are available for all three days.
