Urban Caving Sheffield - Megatron Tour! 4:00 pm

The Sheaf & Porter Rivers Trust invites you to explore the hidden rivers of central Sheffield and learn about the history, biodiversity and future of these mysterious and sometimes unintentionally beautiful places.

These exciting tours are always a sell-out success (some tours sell out in seconds!) so please book quickly to avoid disappointment.

Tours are led by experienced professional guides provided by local adventure training company, Howl Bushcraft, and will last approximately one and three-quarter hours.

You will be walking in the river and you should wear full-size wellington boots or waders - hiking boots or other robust footwear that completely covers your feet in a protective layer are acceptable but bear in mind you will have wet feet for up to 2 hours. You may wish to bring a walking pole or stick to help with balance. Safety helmets and headlamps will be provided. Please bring spare clothes (especially socks) for after the trip as you may get wet!

In view of the environment and safety considerations there is a minimum age limit of 14 (children under 16 need to be accompanied by a responsible, ticket holding, parent or guardian) and participants need to be confident walking on uneven, slippery surfaces with flowing water, and happy to crawl or stoop in certain sections for up to 2 hours.

All tours will start and finish at Triple Point Brewery where there is on street parking (if none is available, Matilda St carpark is just around the corner). If you aren't coming by car, you will be able to leave some items of clothing or a small bag in your guides vehicle, but this will be at your own risk.

Tours may be called off in the event of high-water conditions or a forecast of heavy rain. This may be at very short notice but please do not attempt to contact us to ask if the tour is cancelled – if it is you will be notified. A full refund will be offered in this case or for any other reason that we are forced to cancel the event. Refunds are not available in any other circumstances, but you may transfer your ticket to somebody else at face value or less.

Important: Please feel free to have a drink and a bite to eat after your tour but please do not drink alcohol or take other drugs prior to your tour. If your guide feels that you are under the influence, have not met any of the conditions mentioned above or are wearing unsuitable footwear (any footwear that is open or does not provide suitable protection to your foot or grip will be deemed unsuitable) then you will not be permitted to take part in the tour and will not receive a refund or other compensation.

Ticket holders must be present at least 15 minutes prior to their tour for their safety briefing and helmet provision (failure to do so may result in not being permitted on the tour without refund or compensation).
