About this Event
So there's this video game franchise called The Witcher. Maybe you've heard of it. Maybe you've even heard of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (you know, cause it sold 50 million copies and makes a lot of the Top 10 lists out there).
But have you heard of Gwent? The mini-game within the game so good that it has its own cult following?
Now it's here, in real life, on the table!
Gwent is a deck-building card game renowned for deep strategy, careful resource management, bluffing, and reading your opponent – and Jacob is unbelievably eager to get his hands on a copy and get everyone he knows obsessed with it. Did we mention it plays in only 20 minutes?
The night will begin with an overview of the rules, then we'll get into groups and play (at least one) full best-of-three round, with Jacob on hand to answer questions as needed and provide advice as desired.
Each copy of Gwent plays up to 5 folks. Come as a group of 5, come on your own, or anything in between! We'll make sure everyone has a table to play at.
There are THREE ticket options for this event!
$15 Bring-Your-Own Ticket: This is the right ticket for you if you own (or can borrow) a copy of the game to bring and play, or if you're coming with someone else who has a Game-Included ticket.
$25 Play-The-Bard's Ticket: This is the right ticket for you if you don't have access to the game, but aren't quite ready to commit to buying it yet. Up to 5 folks can play the library copy here at The Bard and Bear as a perfect in-between option.
$50 Game-Included Ticket: This is the ticket for you if you're looking to add a copy of Gwent to your home collection! This option includes your entry, as well as a copy of the game to keep. (A limited number of copies are available to pick up before the event, especially if you're giving this as a gift, but that does make your ticket non-refundable.)
Already know how to play, but want to come along with someone new? Please do! We'd love to have your expertise and experience to further help the folks at your table learn; just be prepared for extremely casual games with a lot of table-talk and allowing folks to change their mind about what they want to do with their turn.
