If you have not previously attended one of our paddle sport events, please consider coming along to try one of our introduction to Kayaking sessions.
We will be using Sit On Top kayaks to paddle on part of The Leeds & Liverpool Canal. Launching from Rodley we will be heading through Calverley towards Apperley Bridge Marina. A slow and tranquil paddle through a beautiful stretch of the Canal heading through Calverley Woods. Built in 1770 The Leeds & Liverpool Canal was built to connect the big industrial towns of Yorkshire and now supports a vast array of wildlife protected by the Canal River trust founded in 2012.

Starting with a 10minute introduction and 20-minute warm up followed by a 2hr paddle starting at Rodley Canal heading towards Apperley Bridge Marina and back.
Once we meet up, we will talk about the equipment and our plans for the trip including any obstacles we may come across while on the water.
These events are aimed at all fitness levels and will be led by professional outdoor instructors with support from our team of qualified MHFA staff.
All equipment will be provided, and the event will be supported by qualified instructors and Mental Health First Aiders. This is an ideal opportunity to explore the health benefits of paddle sports as well as learn new skills.
Please note - that currently, the maximum weight we can safely accommodate is 15 stone - please contact us before booking on if you weigh more than 15st.
Approx Activity Duration – 2.5 hours
