Learn to Fence! is an introductory & intermediate level summer camp designed for both new and returning campers, ages 7 to 14, to explore the sport of Olympic Fencing. The camp offers a fun, fast-paced experience with a mix of fencing and non-fencing activities aimed at building coordination, competitive skills, and self-awareness. It fosters a supportive, safe environment where campers can learn swordplay, enhance their athletic abilities, and develop intellectual skills.Camp is led by Head Coach Jeffrey Kallio, an accredited fencing coach and Eagle Scout who has coached athletes of all ages, including para-fencers and current and former NCAA competitors. Additional staff includes additional coaches, Forge Team teen leaders, and pre-announced guest coaches, providing a positive and supportive camp experience. All of our lead coaches have received SafeSport education and a background screening.
Equipment is provided, but campers should bring their own lunch, snacks, and water bottle. Instructional times run from 9:15 am to 4:00 pm, with drop-off between 8:45 and 9:15 am and pickup between 4:00 and 5:00 pm.
For those unsure if their child is ready for fencing, a 10-day trial academy membership is available to explore the sport before committing.
