A 4-Week Stand-Up Comedy Workshop Ending In A Live Showcase
Have you ever wanted to try stand-up comedy?
Maybe you’ve always thought you were funny. Maybe you’ve been sitting on ideas for years. Or maybe your agent keeps telling you to just get on stage already.
Stand-Up 1-0-Something is a four-week stand-up comedy workshop where participants write, develop, and perform their own 5–7 minute stand-up set in front of a live audience.
This workshop is designed for beginners who want to try stand-up for the first time, as well as comedians who want to develop new material and strengthen their stage presence.
Over four sessions, you’ll work on writing jokes, refining your point of view, improving timing, and learning how to command a room. Each week builds toward a showcase performance where students perform their finished set.
Stand-up is about confidence, presence, and being able to stay in the moment while reading the energy of the crowd. By the end of the workshop, students will walk away with a developed stand-up set and the experience of performing it live.
What You'll Work On
• Writing and developing original stand-up material
• Finding your comedic voice and point of view
• Stage presence and comedic timing
• Working the room and reading audience energy
• Structuring and refining a 5–7 minute stand-up set
The workshop culminates in a live showcase performance where students perform their material for an audience.
