Remember when we spent 5 weeks learning the four basic elements of tango? Weight shifts, side, back and forward steps, the whole thing? Cool. We skipped one.The fifth element is the pivot.
By the end of this course you'll know how to do one of tango's most famous moves and, more importantly, why it works. No memorizing sequences. No pushing your partner around and hoping for the best.
>> Disclaimer: This is not an "I've never done tango before" class. If you haven't done basics, you'll be lost (and I'll feel sad). If you are just starting out, wait for the next cycle or show up at our prácticas. But if you've got the foundations and want to understand how people actually communicate pivots and ochos (without pushing, pulling, or telepathy), this is it.
We're starting from the ground up, but we're going straight into the stuff that makes tango people confused. The "wait why am I on the wrong leg" moments. The "I've seen people do ochos but I have no idea what's happening" thing. Week by week, we're building it so it actually makes sense (and we will not forget about the 4 connections. We are going deeper there too)

The big things we're covering:
Week 1 (March 13): Pivot technique in parallel system: how your body actually rotates and why it matters
Week 2 (March 20): Centers of rotation in the couple + crossed system (aka "help I'm on the wrong leg now what")
Week 3 (March 27): Milonguero ochos (sounds exotic, i know)
Week 4 (April 3): Full ochos with pivots: the classic tango move everyone recognizes, but you'll actually understand the mechanics
