About this Event
MAP and Lexington Co-op Collaboration
Lexington Co-op envisions a strong and sustainable local food system in which our community is educated about healthy and nutritious cooking and culturally significant foods, which is why we are grateful and excited to continue our collaboration with MAP!
In celebration of AAPI Month
Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is observed in the United States during the month of May, and recognizes the contributions and influence of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States - it's all about empowering Asian American communities and spotlighting the amazing things they are doing!
We're a little late by celebrating this in June, but, hey, any time of year is great to hone cultural cooking skills! Join us by celebrating and learning about authentic Indian cooking!
Ambika Swami is the founder of Buffalo’s Vadapav & Bites, which began as a humble stand at the Williamsville Farmers Market. A passionate home cook and mother of two, Ambika brings generations of family recipes, authentic Indian flavors, and a love of sharing food and culture with the Buffalo community.
Join us for an evening of traditional Indian home cooking with Buffalo’s Vada Pav Bites! In this interactive class, you’ll learn how to prepare flavorful, comforting dishes from scratch while exploring the spices, techniques, and cultural traditions behind the meal.
The evening’s menu includes Beetroot Paratha, Potato Bhaji (Aloo Sabzi), and Shrikhand, a saffron-cardamom yogurt dessert. Along the way, you’ll learn practical cooking tips, ingredient basics, and techniques you can bring into your own kitchen.
Come hungry — we’ll cook, learn, and share a delicious meal together.
