Not many people know that the Niles District of Fremont was once the capital of silent films. Still fewer people know that Emily DuBois, a silent film actress who once lived on High St. where our future home will be built, made movies there in the 1910s with the likes of Broncho Billy Anderson and Charlie Chaplin. Check out the website at nilesfilmmuseum.org and then meet us for ice cream on Saturday, August 10th before the doors to the theater open at 7:00 PM. The ice cream parlor is Niles Sweets & Eats located at 37699 Niles Blvd. The Niles Silent Film Museum is housed in the Edison Theater building, a century-old Nickelodeon movie theater, located at 37417 Niles Blvd., Fremont. Suggested donation to the museum: $10.00.RSVPs not required but appreciated: missionpeakcohousing.org/events
