About this Event
The Nature Conservancy uses controlled burns to mimic natural fires that shaped the landscape over 10,000 years, creating a diverse ecosystem of open woodlands, young forest and shady old-growth.
Have you heard of a drip torch? What about dragon eggs? Join TNC's James Davis at our Charlottesville workshop to learn about controlled burning, and the equipment used to make it happen. He will go over the basics of the Virginia Chapter's fire program, and demo our Fire Drone, Engine, and UTV.
This event is free and open to the public! Parking is available outside of our shop, or along River Road if the lot is full.
