Art in literature makes the thoughts and words leap off the page. Immerse yourself in the illustrative art of three acclaimed author/illustrators. This exhibition is open to the public. The artists will be onsite from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Jim Benton
Jim Benton is the award-winning author and illustrator of more than thirty books, including the New York Times best-selling series DEAR DUMB DIARY, CATWAD, FRANNY K. STEIN, and CLYDE as well as the 3/4 of a billion dollar international licensing hit, IT'S HAPPY BUNNY.
Jim's books have sold more than fifteen million copies worldwide, been translated into more than fifteen languages (and Braille), and have garnered numerous honors (like five top LIMA awards, American Librarian Association Top Picks, Addy awards, Eisner nominations, Reuben divisional awards, an Inkpot award and an Eleanor Cameron award).
He is a TV and film producer, a joke writer, a screenwriter and his work has appeared in The New Yorker, Mad Magazine, and hung in the gallery of The Society of Illustrators.

Cherie Okonski
Cherie Okonski is an accomplished artist and children's author who lives in Stevensville, Michigan, with her family. As a mother and an artist, Cherie understands the importance of encouraging creativity in children.
She devotes her time to playful storytelling and expressive art that spark children's imaginations.
With every stroke of color and each carefully chosen word, she creates gifts of love intended to inspire a new generation of kindhearted, confident individuals who cherish the world and the people around them.
Heidi Woodward Sheffield
Heidi Woodward Sheffield’s debut book, BRICK BY BRICK won the Ezra Jack Keats Award, was chosen for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and Scholastic. Her second book, ICE CREAM FACE was also selected by Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
Heidi illustrated ARE YOUR STARS LIKE MY STARS? (written by Leslie Helakoski) which was featured in the BBC children’s story series Cbeebies. Heidi also illustrated GOOD NIGHT, LITTLE MAN (written by Daniel Bernstrom) which is a Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection.
Heidi’s upcoming book, MOON’S WISH explores the friendship between a boy, the moon, and their shared love of nighttime stories. Publication by Penguin/Random House is slated for Fall, 2027. Visit heidibooks.com to learn more.
