About this Event
While Jurassic Park (1993) sparked global fascination with dinosaurs, the decades since have brought an explosion of new discoveries, and a modern day gold rush in fossil hunting around the world.
Paleontologist Dr. Kraig Derstler, recently returned from building dinosaurs at the world’s newest natural history museum in Abu Dhabi, is now helping construct a triceratops skeleton right here in Santa Paula for the Ventura County Science Center.
In this talk, he will explore dinosaur anatomy, ecology, and extinction, before diving into the evolving world of modern paleontology - from cutting-edge technologies like MRI fossil imaging and 3D printing to the multi-billion-dollar industry surrounding fossil collection today.
Doors open at 6:30, prsesentation starts at 7:00
Light refresments provided, we'll do our best to make this a zero-waste event!
