Leah Hazard is an NHS midwife and the author of The Father’s Home Birth Handbook, Hard Pushed: A Midwife’s Story(a Sunday Times bestseller) and Womb: The Inside Story of Where We All Began (Saltire Society Book of the Year 2023, New York Times Editors’ Choice, and now translated into 20 languages worldwide). Leah is a frequent commentator on reproductive health and justice across the media, with contributions to the BBC, Sky News, Channel 4, New Statesman, the Guardian and more. She is proud to be a Trustee of Amma Birth Companions, providing perinatal support to women and birthing people facing barriers such as poverty, isolation and immigration status.
Kate Womersley is an NHS doctor specialising in psychiatry. She is a research fellow at Imperial College London where she co-leads the MESSAGE project, to progress sex and gender equity in medical research. Kate's writing on health, science and the humanities can be found in The Guardian, The Spectator and The Financial Times. She lives in Edinburgh.
