About This Workshop

NEP has offered a series of racial-affinity based LFE offerings as a recognition that people have different kinds of learning, growth and healing to do based on our racial identities in a system of racial oppression. Dismantling systemic oppression requires all of us working across identities towards a system that works for everyone - and along the way, we have different types of healing, support, and learning to do in order to work together effectively towards that end.

This workshop - Leading Towards Equity for Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC)/People of the Global Majority (PGM) - is an affinity professional development offering that will provide a space to build community with and learn from other BIPOC/PGM equity leaders from across the country. We believe that BIPOC/PGM leaders need and deserve protected spaces to share, reflect, and heal together in service of strengthening our individual and collective leadership for equity. We will tap into our collective brilliance, resilience, power, and agency. Through this experience, participants will...

  • Feel energized, connected, and affirmed as we build solidarity with one another in this emergent racial affinity space
  • Connect with our ancestral legacies of resilience and resistance
  • Reflect on experiences as BIPOC/PGM leaders navigating white supremacist, cis-hetero patriarchal culture and deepen our understanding of how our socio-political-historical context and ideologies of domination and superiority impact our leadership and wellness
  • Unpack the importance of and explore approaches to attend to our individual and and collective healing

[If you or a teammate identify as White/a person who benefits from white privilege please register for our Leading Towards Equity in White Affinity | Oct 23]

Virtual Workshop Overview

We are excited to offer Center for Equity Leadership Virtual Workshops – 3-hour interactive sessions where participants will engage with a single focused topic, connect with other equity leaders around the world, and gain new tools to add to their equity practice. Workshops are bite-sized nuggets of knowledge, frameworks and tools that are delivered in a highly engaging way. They are great for:

  • People who are new to equity leadership and want to dip their toes in before registering for a course
  • Seasoned practitioners of equity and rebel leadership who are looking to connect with other leaders outside of their organizations
  • People who have attended or are currently attending a Center for Equity Leadership course and want to supplement their course work

This workshop will be delivered in a live, 3-hour interactive learning session conducted online in Zoom. Attend the live session with facilitators and fellow participants and gain new knowledge and skills to bring back to your own context. Participants receive electronic versions of all resources and tools.

We are intensely focused on humanizing our virtual spaces. We focus on interactivity and connection (these workshops are not webinars), frequent screen and body breaks, and attending to learning, practice, and healing in community with people around the world.

Accessibility

We provide an advance draft of our slide deck 24 hours before the session and enable live transcription and closed captions during the live Zoom session. Our sessions are recorded (absent any technical difficulties) and can be accessed for up to 30 days after the course concludes.

Registration & Payment

You will receive a password-protected Zoom link and any other pre-reads and resources prior to the meeting via email. Please add [email protected] to your contacts to ensure you receive all course communications.
