Leadership Under Assault: Compassion and Courage in Corporate Contexts

This seminar is IN-PERSON at the The Lodge Des Peres, and attendees will receive 3 CEU's (Missouri LCSW/LPC) and 3 PDH's (EAPA).

The following objectives will be covered during the presentation:

• Increase understanding of pressures/expectations on leaders in the context of today's polarized societal climate, including the impact of media and social media.
• Consider the elements present in the Incident Command structure and how it can be leveraged to provide humanitarian care following crisis.
• Learn practical strategies for providing immediate support to the varied needs of a global organization, with sensitivity to all levels.
• Gain insight to the tangible actions that clearly demonstrate genuine care to all stakeholders.

Info: St Louis EAP Association welcomes R3 Continuum leaders Jeff Gorter, MSW, LCSW and Maria Whitter, MSW, LCSW, CEAP, SAP. Mr. Gorter serves as VP of Clinical Crisis Response and brings over 30 years of clinical experience including consultation and extensive on-site critical incident response to businesses and communities. He has responded directly to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, Hurricane Katrina, the earthquake/tsunami in Japan, the Las Vegas shooting, the breaching of the US Capitol, the 2023 Hawaii wildfires, the 2024 Asheville Floods, and the 2025 DC Aviation Disaster, among others. Maria serves as VP of Clinical Services, bringing more than 25 years of clinical experience across a wide range of behavioral health settings. Her background includes extensive work in Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), management consultation, disruptive event management, military and family counseling, LGBTQIA+ support, regulatory compliance, and community mental health.
