These presentations will be worth 1 CPE per presentation for a total of two(2) CPE credits for the evening for our local CMAs, Certified Management Accountants. CPE, relevant topics, wonderful company, networking and delicious food - what more could you ask for on a Tuesday?


Evening's dinner menu provided by Fogo de Chao:

About Jo Smith:

Jo Smith CMC® is a Certified Management Consultant, executive coach, instructor and speaker, helping leaders improve employee engagement, client satisfaction and profitability. Jo also teaches leadership for Willamette’s Atkinson Graduate School of Management. Prior to opening her consulting and coaching business, Jo served as the Managing Consultant of the Los Angeles office of Drake Beam Morin, leading a team of professional consultants to become one of the global human resource firm’s highest performing offices worldwide.

Jo is a Past President of the Portland State University (PSU) Alumni Association. She served on the Board of Directors of the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) and the National Board of Directors of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC) USA.

Jo earned a Bachelor of Science degree with high honors from PSU. She was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the national honor society for business students, and studied human resources and coaching following graduation.


"2024 OSHA and Workers Compensation Regulatory Update and Emerging Issues"

The presentation will review:

2024 federal OSHA and Oregon Workers Compensation regulatory updates, including changes to the electronic recordkeeping standard and civil penalties and the recently passed SB 418 and HB 3412.

Further, emerging safety, health, and claims topics will be explored, including remote worker challenges, artificial intelligence impacts, and total worker health opportunities.

About Emily Lubman:

Emily Lubman is the Director of Risk Management at HUB International. She has a Master of Public Health, with an emphasis in Occupational Safety and Health, and has earned her Certified Safety Professional Designation. She Brings extensive safety management experience to HUB Clients across a wide variety of industries including: wood products, construction, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, higher education, food processing, transportation, and professional services. In her current role, she partners with clients to minimize employee and public safety losses, achieve regulatory compliance, and build a robust safety culture.
