About this Event
Leadburn Community Woodland, 13 miles south of Edinburgh, was recently purchased from the Forestry Commission by a small group of individuals known as the Friends of Leadburn Community Woodland. The group intend to replace the previous plantation of conifers with native trees such as silver birch, ash, oak and rowan, among others, and planting at the site has recently begun. The area is boggy in places, so wellies are recommended if you have them.
On this visit we may be removing tree tubes or continuing the sapling rescue and replanting work we've previously carried out with this client. Note that this task may move to Waterheads or the Barnes Estate near Peebles.
W e encourage volunteers to use our minibus for transport. If you live near this task and wish to make your own way you must ring Debbie on 01313370223 to book a space and for joining instructions.
P lease bring your lunch and wear appropriate footwear (boots or wellingtons) and waterproof outdoor clothing.
You can check the website for further information.
