Join the Film High Club for a screening of Amrou Al-Kadhi's British romance, Layla (2024), with an intro and post-film discussion.About this Event
Layla, a British-Palestinian drag performer, moves fluidly between worlds, navigating identity, desire and belonging in contemporary London. When they begin an unexpected relationship with Max, a marketing executive from a very different background, questions of authenticity, assimilation and self-expression come sharply into focus. By turns playful and piercing, the film explores what it means to be seen, and at what cost.
