About the event: Law Day for Women offers one-on-one meetings with volunteer attorneys who will answer legal questions in the diverse areas of law*: bankruptcy, disability, family, employment, immigration, landlord/tenant, tax, and wills and trusts. As well as, access additional support with the Law Library Resource Center (LLRC).

*Legal areas are subject to change

Día De Ley Para Mujeres ofrece reuniones individuales con abogados voluntarios que responderán preguntas legales en las siguientes áreas de ley*: bancarrota, familia, empleo, inmigración, propietario/inquilino, impuestos, testamentos y fideicomisos. Además, podrá acceder a apoyo adicional a través del Centro de Recursos de la Biblioteca Jurídica.

*Tenga en cuenta que no todos los abogados voluntarios hablan español, si necesita un intérprete, por favor traiga a alguien que le interprete (necesita tener mayoria de edad)

What to expect day-of:

Check-in begins at 9:00AM and ends at 10:00AM. Get in line early: first come, first served! / El registro de entrada comienza a las 9am y finaliza a las 10am. Haga fila temprano: ¡por orden de llegada!

Meetings are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please check the area of law you would like help with so we can ensure that we have plenty of volunteer attorneys available to answer your questions. / Las reuniones con abogados voluntarios y expertos financieros se programan por orden de llegada. Preinscríbase en el área de derecho con la que desea ayuda, de modo que podamos asegurarnos de que tengamos suficiente abogados voluntarios disponibles para responder sus preguntas.
Like most first-come, first-served events, we cannot project how long it will take for you to be seen, so please plan accordingly. Feel free to bring along a snack, a good book, or your favorite magazine to enjoy while you wait. Connect with the Court: Fresh Start is proud to highlight the work of the ! The LLCR will be on site at Law Day for Women to print court forms, as well as review forms for completeness. They will also be able to provide information and next steps for divorce, custody, name changes, and more!

*The LLRC staff will not provide legal advice, but can offer resources and information for your legal needs, making you feel confident with this process.

Conéctese con el tribunal: ¡Fresh Start se enorgullece de destacar el trabajo del ! El Centro de Recursos de la Biblioteca Jurídica estará presente en el Día de la Ley para Mujeres para imprimir formularios judiciales y revisarlos para verificar que estén completos. También podrán brindar información y los pasos a seguir para casos de divorcio, custodia, cambio de nombre y mucho más.

*El personal del LLRC no brindará asesoramiento legal, pero puede ofrecer recursos e información para sus necesidades legales, brindándole la confianza necesaria durante este proceso.
