About this Event
Come join us for the launch of the as part of the .
We at Southampton’s are excited to be hosting this innovative new national Hub, which will provide training and funding for 4 ‘spoke’ projects that bring together researchers and non-academic music organisations. While spoke project applications are not open to UoS academics we hope that University colleagues will attend the Launch to hear about the work of the Hub, and signpost to others.
Our launch, which will take place on Highfield Campus, will begin with a series of short presentations from University leaders and the project team in Building 2A, Room 2077 at 5pm. We will provide an overview of the Hub, including how we will support the development of co-created public engagement research projects focused on music and social justice.
These slightly more formal proceedings will be followed at 6pm with celebratory drinks (soft provided by us, but bar available!) and snacks in the foyer of Turner Sims.
The BBC Singers will then perform a programme of Southampton faculty composers and Joby Talbot at 7.30pm; tickets should be purchased separately for the concert.
Project lead, Dr Erin Johnson-Williams
At the hub we are committed to making our events accessible and inclusive to all. If you are interested in attending but require adjustments or assistance – for example, you need an additional ticket for an assistant, require support with travel arrangements or have additional communication requirements such as a British Sign Language interpreter – please contact [email protected]
