A Toronto native and veteran of Second City, Elvira Kurt is a trailblazing, blazer-wearing comedy icon. From hosting her own prime-time talk show, popcultured with Elvira Kurt, to acclaimed comedy specials and countless performances across Canada and around the world, Kurt’s career spans decades of groundbreaking work. One of the first openly gay stand-up comedians, Elvira is celebrated not only for her razor-sharp wit but also for her lasting impact on queer visibility in comedy. Her extensive television credits include writing and performing on Baroness von Sketch Show, appearing in I Have Nothing, serving as a judge on The Second City’s Next Comedy Legend, and hosting the Mark Burnett–produced game show Spin Off. Behind the scenes, Kurt continues to lend her creative talents to major productions such as The Great Canadian Pottery Throwdown, Drink Masters, Canada’s Drag Race, and The Great Canadian Baking Show. Her work has been recognized by the Canadian Screen Awards, Canadian Comedy Awards, Toronto Fringe Festival, and the Cannes Short Film Showcase.
Robert Watson is the host and producer of Gay AF Comedy, a two-time Canadian Comedy Award winner, and the recipient of the 2025 Inspire Award for Queer Positive Business of the Year. His work has been featured in CBC Arts, The Toronto Star, CP24, IN Magazine, Edmonton Journal, Winnipeg Free Press, CTV Morning Atlantic, The Social, and many other media outlets. Robert’s 2022 stand-up special “Out For Laughs” is available on OutTV and Amazon Prime, while his debut album “Homo Say What?” (2023) reached #1 on the iTunes Comedy chart. His newest EP, “Mom Won’t Like This,” released in August 2025, can be heard on SiriusXM and major streaming platforms.
