Raised between Reykjavík and Washington, DC, Icelandic-Chinese singer-songwriter Laufey (pron. / lay-vay / )makes music that is the byproduct of rich cultural heritages and mixed musical influences.Inspired in part by her mother, a classical violinist, Laufey took up piano and cello early on. But it wasn'tuntil deep-diving into her father's record collection,consisting of jazz artists Ella Fitzgerald and BillieHoliday, that she launched into her musical journey.
"I'm definitely very influenced by composers like Ravel and Chopin," the 22-year old musician explains,"but when I discovered the Great American Songbook and the music of George Gershwin and RichardRodgers, it felt like this middle ground between jazz and classical that suited me perfectly."
Laufey dove headfirst into the musical canon, captivated by the lush arrangements and dreamy vocals,and by her early teenage years, she was turning heads with a mesmerizing style that belied her youngage. Attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Laufey began cementing her distinct blend oftender jazz melodies and slow-burning R&B grooves.
As a classically-trained musician, Laufey's songs are produced and performed as jazz tunes, but thesongwriting follows a more modern and relatable blueprint, one taken straight from her own intimateexperiences in life and love. Her debut lead single, "Street by Street," is an empowering declaration ofintent to reclaim her relationship with the city of Boston, as jeopardized by the associated memories of apainful breakup.Through free-form scatting and reposeful vocal styling, Laufey transforms her heartfelttruthsinto a revived classic-sound for contemporary audiences to resonate with.
Unable to tour due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Laufey instead took to Instagram and TikTok, performinga mix of originals and classic jazz standards. Within a year, she found herselfgarnering an impressiveGen-Z social following propelling her work to a newfound audience. Her songwriting has seen her gainnew fans in Billie Eilish, Willow Smith, V from BTS, dodie, Ricky Montgomery and Alexander 23, the lattertwo which Laufey went onto support on their sold out fall 2021 tours.
After a standout year since releasing her highly-acclaimed debut EP,Typical of Me, Laufey made hertelevision debut with a captivating performance on Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel, and performed a softmedley of tracks from her debut for KEXP's firstlive sessionback in-studio. Upcoming notableperformances will continue into 2022, with Laufey confirmed to appear at the Montreal Jazz Festival andPortland JazzFestival. With the momentum from last year, Laufey is set to have another remarkable runas she prepares to share more of her signature cross-generational sound

TICKET DELIVERY:
Delivery of tickets will be mobile only, there are no exceptions and no printed tickets are available. Refunds will not be permitted for patrons who purchase with the intent to resell.

We suggest guests verify their method of delivery prior to arrival. AXS Mobile Delivery QR codes will be accessible through the AXS Ticketing Mobile App using the same email address used to purchase the tickets. Guests with questions regarding their tickets should contact their original point of purchase.

All persons and bags are subject to search. Clear tote bags (including handbags/purses) that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12” will be admitted inside after inspection. One-gallon clear plastic freezer or storage bags are also permitted. Small clutch bags or wallets that do not exceed 4.5” x 6.5 “, with or without a handle or strap, may be carried into the venue along with one of the clear bag options (clear tote or storage bag). Oversized bags (i.e. backpacks, suitcases, beach bags, laptop bags, etc.) are prohibited. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Accessible Seating: By purchasing ADA accessible seats, fans verify that they, or someone who they are purchasing tickets for, require the features of an accessible seat. Accessible seats are held in areas throughout the arena. Row 9 in the following sections are on a flat surface, easily accessible for wheelchairs and motorized scooters. To access Row 8 in the following sections a patron would go down two steps. It is suggested that Row 9 be used for wheelchairs/motorized scooters and a guest, and Row 8 be used for any additional guests (up to 2 additional guests permitted for a max of 4 tickets per ADA transaction) and/or guests with limited mobility.
