About this Event
We invite you to an empowering community meet and greet dedicated to advocacy, accountability, and change in health care.
Founded in honor of LaShauna Matthews, LMC was created to fight racism, discrimination, neglect, and failures in health care systems that continue to harm Black and marginalized communities. This gathering is more than an event. This is the building of a movement.
Come meet the people behind the mission, learn about the A.W.E. Approach (Advocacy, Wholeness, and Elevation), hear about upcoming workshops and community initiatives, and discover ways to become involved in the fight for equitable health care.
This event is designed for:
- Patients and families
- Health care workers and advocates
- Community leaders and organizers
- Union members and allies
- Anyone passionate about justice, accountability, and protecting lives
Topics include:
- Patient advocacy and rights
- Recognizing when standard procedures are not followed
- Community education and empowerment
- Upcoming LMC workshops and programs
- Building collective action for policy and system change
This is a space for connection, healing, education, and action.
Because behind every statistic is a person. Behind every number is a family.
