The 16th annual Las Vegas Writes project will launch this year's book with a reading and conversation featuring the writers from the anthology.Each year since 2009, Nevada Humanities has commissioned Las Vegas writers to contribute to the Las Vegas Writes anthology, and to develop original works addressing a theme connected to Las Vegas. These works are compiled into a book-length volume of stories, essays, and poetry. "Monsoon Season: Las Vegas Writers on Water in the Desert" featured authors include Erika Dagri, Scott Dickensheets, JM Huck, Andrew S. Nicholson, Marlene Roque, Geoff Schumacher, John L. Smith and editor Jarret Keene.
