Prof. Dr Maarten H.D. Larmuseau is a genetic genealogist affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at KU Leuven and the Heritage Studies programme at the University of Antwerp. At KU Leuven, he leads the Laboratory of Human Genetic Genealogy, where he and his interdisciplinary team combine modern and ancient DNA with genealogy and (family) history to study the impact of biological kinship in society. He will give a lecture entitled “The DNA of the Merovingians: the genetic perspective on the Early Middle Ages in Flanders”, based on research by himself and his team. The lecture will be in Dutch.
