About this Event
In this immersive, hands-on workshop, you will produce one large-scale abstract painting. We'll focus on making informed color choices, create atmospheric effects with layering and blending, add drama with shapes, and ultimately reflect the specific mood or tone that you are seeking.
This is a great workshop if your home needs big art. The size we have is perfect for over a bed or over a fireplace, couch or sideboard. A big work of art grounds and elevates a room but it can be hard to find the right thing at the right price point. We can help you create it instead!
We'll start with an introduction to Color Field painting history and contemporary art examples to gather inspiration. Then we'll create a few sketches and experiment with the materials at smaller scale. Finally, after a short break, we'll move on to creating your unique large scale work.
All materials included. Limited to 4 spaces.
Custom canvas dimensions available upon request. If you have a specific large abstract work you want to emulate, bring the example and we're happy to help you achieve it.
The work you take home from this workshop can be easily hung without framing or we can get it professionally framed for you for an additional fee. Framing prices on request.
