World-renowned Argentine tango singer Martín Alvarado returns to Lappeenranta during his 59th international solo tour.
Described by Astor Piazzolla’s legendary singer Héctor de Rosas as “the best voice in Buenos Aires” and hailed by the British media as “the voice of tango in the 21st century,” Alvarado is one of Argentina’s most prominent contemporary tango singers and one of the finest vocalists in the history of the genre.
Alvarado has a deep and enduring connection with Finland, where he has recorded six albums, performed hundreds of concerts across the country, and written acclaimed Spanish versions of Finnish tango classics such as “Liljankukka,” “Siks oon mä suruinen,” “Täysikuu,” and “Tähdet meren yllä,” as well as Kirka’s hit song “Surun pyyhit silmistäni” and Vesa-Matti Loiri’s “Sydämeeni joulun teen.”
