🌙🏮 Light Up the Night at the Free Lantern Walk! 🏮🌙Celebrate Chinese New Year with a magical evening of glowing lanterns, community, and creativity in the Wellington Botanic Gardens.

🕖 Craft Station: Limited craft station available for lantern making from 7:00 pm. We recommend making lanterns at home or school before attending.
🚶 Lantern Walk Begins: 8:00 pm
⏱ Finish: Approx. 9:30 pm
📍 Meeting Point: Founders Gate, Glenmore Street, Wellington Botanic Gardens
🚶 Route: Walk along Pinehill Path, ending at the Lady Norwood Rose Garden
🎨 Get Creative!
Make your lantern out of paper, tin cans, plastic bottles, paper-mâché, or natural materials – let your imagination shine! Bring your own handmade lantern, or use our craft station while it lasts.
⚠️ Safety Note: No live flames – please use LED or battery operated lights inside your lanterns.
You can wear lucky colours like red and gold, or simply come as you are – whether in festival costume or just for the Lantern Walk, it’s all about having a fun, magical time for everyone, celebrating together amid the beauty of the gardens at night.
